Innova Europe – BigCommerce and Standard Books integration

What is it?
This is the backend of Innova Europe’s systems: an API built with Laravel that ties together the BigCommerce online store, Standard Books accounting software, the warehouse and customer applications. Users don’t see it directly, but every order, invoice and packing slip passes through it.

What does it do?
- BigCommerce synchronisation: products, variants, categories, customers, price lists and orders update every 15 minutes, with a full check overnight. New orders and changes arrive instantly via webhooks.
- Automatic invoices: online orders become Standard Books invoices every few minutes. The customer is matched by VAT number, company name (including fuzzy matching) or email, or created as new. Products are matched to items by SKU.
- Reliability: long invoices are sent in parts and every sent line is marked, so an interruption never creates duplicate lines. Failed attempts are logged and retries are limited.
- Data back from accounting: Standard Books customers, items and invoices are imported regularly.
- Packing slips for the warehouse: each new order produces a PDF and CSV packing slip with shelf locations. Warehouse staff can edit the customer’s packing slip in their view, refresh it from the store and send it to the customer.
- B2B portal backend: login with the online store account, customer-specific prices from price lists, real-time stock checks before order creation and the option for the sales team to act on behalf of a customer.
- Disc designer and AI: a public API for designing discs. Uploaded logos are checked by AI (Claude) for hot-stamp suitability, so customers get instant feedback and faulty files never reach production.
- Monitoring: logs of scheduled jobs and API errors plus price-list coverage checks.
